The World of Coral Reefs: Explore and Protect the Natural Wonders of the Sea by Alexandria Neonakis, Erin T. Spencer

4.0

Packed full of clear, informative facts about coral reefs, this is a good book to include in classroom resources about oceans and the environment. The World of Coral Reefs gives an overview of the types of reefs, types of corals, reef-dwelling animals, and threats faced by reefs in easy to read text accompanied by beautiful, accurate illustrations.
The climate threat faced by the reefs today was discussed, and gave tips for how children can help make a difference to the global issue.
There was some lovely Hawaiian mythology included which broke up the more serious topics.
Aimed at upper primary school (years 3-6), this is a good resource for children starting to learn about oceans.
