There is literally nothing about this book I didn’t like. Holy shit.
The only things is that whoever wrote the blurb for the back of the book decided to spoil the main mystery of the book? Why?
Okay, highlights:
- Bailey’s last name being Rydell bringing back memories of Grease
- Porter
- Parents being involved in a YA contemporary? It’s less likely than you think but it was THERE and we stan a certain dad + stepmom ok
- Porter
- Shark knowledge??? Yes thanks and please (for this shark nerd, I was having trouble with the vilainization in the beginning but then the aquarium scene came around and Porter OBVIOUSLY respects the hell out of the beautiful creatures we call sharks so I’m fucking in)
- female masturbation
- proper description of a woman feeling sexual attraction
- proper description of sex without being graphic
- possibly the best character development
- Porter
- the incredible (and very relatable, unfortunately) handling of trauma. as a person suffering from trauma surrounding guns, I was taken aback at just how amazing this was handled.
- cute relationship
- literally everything about Porter except his reaction to Bailey being Mink (bc that was a dick move so)
I can’t believe how amazing this was. Incredible. I’m speechless.
