The Labors of Hercules: A Hercule Poirot Collection by Agatha Christie
4.0
I found the stories in this anthology pretty uneven, of the 12 stories about 2/3rds were very good and the other few lagged a bit. However the way that the stories were tied together with the labors of Hercules was very well done. I enjoyed each labor as an independent, complete story but read together they made a slightly bigger picture than each independently.
No knowledge of the labors of Hercules is needed to get that bigger picture. Though there were a few of the stories where I believe more knowledge of the actual labors of Hercules would have allowed me to draw some parallels that I didn’t catch.
Quite glad I read this. I appreciate Christie as an author more with every book of hers I read.
