This is probably one of the most inspirational books I've ever read. What hit me the most was that, not only was the book so *real* it was all so thoughtful. I loved Starr's charector so much! Khalid's story haunted me throughout the entire novel and it was all so intense. Most importantly, I loved how the author made everything so real- not only standing up for black citizens but also highlighting the negative points. "It's dope to be black until it's hard to be black". This book made a huge move against racism and not only showed us what is wrong and what is right but proved that there is value in each one of us no matter what coloured skin we wear. I have also seen the movie and its just as good!!
