Assistant to the Villain by Hannah Nicole Maehrer

5.0

♡ oh. what. a. book. I don't think I've ever came to love a book so quickly before this one. I fell in love with ALL the characters, the banter, and the humorous aspects of the book. While this is very much a rom-com read, there was still so much depth and backstory to the characters!

♡ I loved Evie and the Villain! Their banter was so cute and I loved the slow burn! The Villain not liking or even tolerating anyone but immediately taking to Evie like a puppy (ok not so much as a puppy in the velcro-dog type, but more so seeking her out and needing her around).

♡ I was hesitant to like Becky, but by the time I reached the middle of the book- she was easily one of my favorite characters! Blade, sweet innocent Blade! He immediately became my favorite character! I loved the little nuggets of Blade's crush on Becky and cannot wait to see Becky fall for Blade (bc how can she not??) Kingsley was so darn cute, I was living for him and his little signs. I do think there's definitely a backstory to him so I can't wait to find out.

♡ I most definitely have some theories on who that knight was that kept helping Evie- I think it's her brother... who's supposed to be dead... so idk about that LOL. I liked the nuggets that Evie's mom plays a much larger part to the story so I'm excited to see where that goes!

♡ This was such a cute rom-com with a hint of fantasy read- and if that's what you're looking for, then this is the book for you! Overall rating: 5 ★
