I'm a sucker for a vaguely non-linear timeline so I liked the organization of this book. Having Geralt refer to events that we then get to read about was really clever and I enjoyed the way the story flowed. I also enjoyed the friendship between Dandelion/Jaskier and Geralt because despite the fact that they spend lots of time calling each other stupid it's clear they are each other's ride or die most of the time. What didn't resonate with me was the paragraphs of dialogue that were filled with names of countries that weren't relevant in the stories. I'm guessing that those connections are much more worth it further into the series but I found the lore-drops more overwhelming than interesting most of the time. I also really didn't love how the only woman who isn't described mostly by her breasts is a literal priestess and Geralt's mother figure. I also was very confused about the personification of Yennefer as a whole and how Geralt's opinion of her changes so quickly.
