The Gray Champion by Nathaniel Hawthorne

slow-paced

1.5

The style is antiquated, not surprisingly, and the story somewhat difficult for us to follow at this later date, far removed from the injustices heaped upon the pilgrims by the redcoats and the British authorities that would engender such a myth-making of a dignified lone man confronting the Governor and his forces. Interesting, but not recommended.
