This Savage Song by V.E. Schwab
4.0
“She cracked a smile. "So what's your poison?"
He sighed dramatically, and let the truth tumble off his tongue. "Life."
"Ah," she said ruefully. "That'll kill you.”
This book was captivating! The entire book felt so smooth and effortless. The pace of the plot was phenomenal too. Throughout the book, I could feel the stress build and I knew that this book was going to hurt. And I was right. It did hurt.
I’ve never read a book specifically about monsters before. But the idea of violence making monsters is fascinating. It really made me feel for august.
I also found myself really enjoying Kates character development. I loved her at the start where she was burning buildings and holding knives to her schoolmates throat to trying to breaking out of handcuffs to try and help august.
I can’t wait to read the next book and hurt myself again.
