"I love you with my whole soul, and I will always love you," he confided to me. "You are my life. I have hated you for that and love you now so much that you've been my instructor in loving. And believe me when I say you will survive this, and that you must for all of us. You will survive because you always have and you always will."
This was such a grandiose and well-written conclusion to the series (at least I think this is the last book?). Once again Anne Rice brilliantly weaves together the stories of vampires old and new, with Lestat at the center of it all in the Court of the Undead. I think this book also tied up the majority of loose ends that may have occurred during the last few books of the series without feeling rushed.
Now the Heavens spread out in all their indescribable beauty before me, the stars like diamonds everywhere that I looked, diamonds of inexpressible brilliance, shining like gifts in the great black vault of Heaven, gifts from whom or what we may never know. "Home," I said. "Guide me home."
One thing that would have be interesting to know more about is the fate of the Replimoids as time goes on, but other than that everything was pretty conclusive. Despite this conclusion, there were quite a few unexpected twists and turns in the story, so that kept things from getting boring or too predictable, even towards the very end. Overall a 5-star read for me.
