Queen of Air and Darkness by Cassandra Clare

”Love is powerful, and there more you’re together, and let yourself feel what you do, the stronger it’ll be. You need to not touch each other. Not speak to each other. Try not to even think about each other.”

Queen of Air and Darkness is a powerful conclusion to The Dark Artifices trilogy. I cannot begin to describe how sad I am to part with it.

I’ve grown attached to Emma and The Blackthorns, I’ve met many wonderful new characters like Cristina and Diana, and the exciting appearances of former Shadowhunter characters like Jace, Clary, Magnus, Alec, Jem and Tessa.

All the emotions I experienced while reading this book, I felt frustration, I felt happiness, I felt love, I felt sadness, and I felt anger. It shows how my heart was being torn apart in the best way.

The action-scenes and the climax truly blew me away and there was not one moment of rest. I was gripped by everything that was going on.

My heart ached so much for Emma and Julian they have become one of my favorite Shadowhunter couples next to Will and Tessa. I felt it deeply, the love they have for one another and the anguish they feel over their forbidden love and the consequences it brings.

The Dark Artifices is a fantastic journey and expands the Shadowhunter universe in a way none of the other trilogies/series ever did. Did it become my favorite? Definitely, it’s very close to The Infernal Devices yet does not top it for me.

There is so much more to look forward to for the series especially in The Wicked Powers, which will be the last and concluding trilogy of The Shadowhunter Chronicles.
