One day I will learn to read blurbs. I knew this was a YA horror that took place in an amusement park. I had assumed based on the cover there was going to be a purge like slaughter.
No, nope, not even close. This was an incredibly thought provoking, dystopian, corporate greed, and hate kind of horror. I was left shook.
Imagine it's the end of the world and fking Disney sold safety/shelter to the wealthiest people in the world to hide out and live in while enslaving their workers and letting the new owners bring back Jim Crow rulership.
Like WTF! It was insane. This story follows a group of friends who all have different experiences when shit hits the fan.
The ending left me sad but hopeful because this story already starts in a post-apocalyptic world where these kids have already experienced death and hunger prior to the short reprieve then new downfall.
Super Impressed, Highly Recommend.
