I'm not crying; I just got four Hobbits stuck in my eye.
I first read the trilogy as library loans around 2012, which helped me fall in love with the movies. Eventually I got the books for my own collection and meant to reread them... but didn't until 2020. And it took me until now to finish this journey.
I don't remember much about that first time reading it, but it definitely didn't take me this long, and I remember loving it. This second time, I found that LotR isn't easy reading - but I got to fall in love with it again by the end, and to rediscover the book version of things, and to find out what my favourite volume is (this one!).
Anyway the point is love!! The point is love!!

PS: Fuck you Alex de la Iglesia for the creepiest possible blurb on my Minotauro edited copy, "carnes tolendas" doesn't mean what you think it means and we really didn't need to know what you do with your books??
