Carrick knows that the time is getting closer. Finley is getting answers. This is the book you do not want to miss. If you have been following the series, you have to find out what all the other books have been leading up to.

I have to say that this was the book where I really slowed down my reading. Knowing that this was the last in the series was part of that. In my mind, if I slowed things down then the story wouldn’t come to an end. But the other side wanted to know what was going to happen.

This is the book where you start to think about heroes and heroines. You think about good versus evil and will what we’ve been lead to believe is true. Can our adventure truly be coming to an end? Who will come out on top once the dust has settled? How will the secondary characters fare?

I could see why this tale took five books. Book one was our beginning, book three was our middle, and now book five is the culmination of everything that came before. I’ve always been in favor of having a physical copy of a book but you can teach an old dog new tricks. You come to realize that if you’re going to read a series again, that’s a lot of books to carry around. Having an e-reader makes things so much easier. If you like to cheat when you’re reading, there’s no difference but think of all that you miss when you do that.

Plus, with this series think of all the visuals you would miss out on. That was one thing I loved. The author made it so easy for me to picture every scene as described. This was a story that was bittersweet from beginning to end. I won’t tell you if the ending was happy or sad – I’ll let you figure that one out for yourself.

I was not compensated nor was I required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.
