Angry Black Woman Versus Zombies by Laura Carter

challenging dark reflective sad tense fast-paced

5.0

OMFG this book got dark quick. It has 28 Days Later mixed with The Belko Experiment vibes. It's hard to explain but it's always heavy and uneasy and when shit pops off it's disgusting and horrifying. This would make a fantastic movie.

Our FMC (I don't think they have said her name) is a sales executive in a PWI. She's married to Chad who is ex-military and an influencer but basically, he lives off her and has three kids. A stubborn teen son Zion, an autistic tween daughter Zaire, and a 2-year-old Zoey. Zoey is Chad's only kid.
So, the zombie outbreak happens, and I immediately knew Chad was a bitch who was only focused on himself and Zoey.

The shit this woman and her kids have had to go through to stay alive is insane. The kids, OMG the kids. Ya'll this is not for the tender hearted because they go through it. Especially Zaire who is special needs.

The ending was satisfying and enforces the fact that the living are more dangerous than the undead.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND
