Almost every single page has a memorable quote, and not just the beautiful epigraphs at each chapter opening. Clara’s journey to loving herself and accepting her power is a soothing balm for adolescent and adult readers alike.
As someone who spent months being gaslighted by an authority figure, having a protagonist who faced that same challenge but was able to do so with more sass was really cathartic.
