Nana, Vol. 9 by Ai Yazawa

I think the beauty of Nana lies in its reality. despite being a work of fiction, the events in the manga are realistic to the point where every one of us can relate to at least one aspect of it. whether it's the constant mental breakdowns and psychological collapses, the breaking of bonds between former friends and lovers, the struggle to meet expectations while your own mental health is on the line etc. when comparing Nana to other fictional work, let's take Berserk for instance, you might laugh at how silly the troubles of the former's cast seems. let us not forget that Nana has spun the Slice of Life genre, to give us not only a slice of life, but life itself. while paling in comparison to fantastical, mystical universes, the beauty of Nana is found in its relatability to humanity and its testament to our daily quandaries.
