This is a follow up to a NA book I read last year. I forgot that I meant to follow on with the series when subsequent ones came out. This is a companion novel and ties into the original story, so I do highly recommend you read that one first.
This is a bit short, really just half a book, so everything is developed in hyper speed. It also is a gut punch. I've never read about two people as damaged as Lena and Eric. It was painful to read at times. The story is ultimately feel good though, and for a quick free read, it wasn't bad. But I don't think I'll read the final book in this series that jumps back to Bree and Josh because it was so hard to read at times because of the subject matter that hit pretty close to home.
If you like your love stories super damaged, this series is for you! The love scenes are pretty good as well.
