part science, part memoir. i found this to be beautiful and insightful and at times mesmerizing, how the author is able to weave the behavior of sea creatures so intricately to the behavior of humans, how we can look to sea creatures for models of family and community, how they have to much to teach us. the author beautifully explores the queer community, mixed race identity, and the importance of relationships
