Holiday Star - Spicy by Melissa Dymond
4.0
“I’m going to teach you that forever isn’t long enough for the two of us.”
.
I officially declare that books with specific themes of celebrations, seasons, or holidays shouldn’t just be read within a particular month.
Hehe, me reading a Christmas reads in January because why not.
Holiday Star - Melissa Dymond is a sad but happy ending romance you must pick up. Our main character, Gwen, grieving, lost, and heartbroken, meets heartthrob celebrity Caleb, and they spend the Christmas house-sitting. But it doesn’t stop there when the press invades their privacy, and they each have to find themselves in their own troubles.
The simplicity of the romance was very lovable and believable, and it made the plotline very easy to follow. It covers the topics of death, grief, addiction and trying to fit into the world. I love following Gwen’s journey of who she is as a daughter, sister, friend, and individuality.
However, I wished it was a dual POV; I was also invested in Caleb’s story. If we had his POV, we would have seen more than just the romance part, his journey and how he overcame it. If we had that POV, the plotline would have been more impactful and synced. Nonetheless, I love this read.
