Chain of Gold by Cassandra Clare
5.0
"Would you like to be a muse?"
"No, I'd like to be a hero"
I have been an avid reader of the Shadowhunter Chronicles and naturally a fan of Cassandra Clare, and my love for her just keeps on increasing, especially after reading this book.
As the sequel series to The Infernal Devices, we witness a time lapse since Clockwork Princess and this book focuses on the kids of our previously encountered characters. The Last Hours trilogy mainly centres around James, Lucie, Matthew, Thomas, Christopher, Cordelia, Grace and Jesse, while also giving us generous sneak peeks into the lives of our previously beloved: Will, Tessa, Cecily, Gabriel, Gideon, Sophie and even Jem!
The warmth and vibrance of Victorian era London beautifully resonates within us and fits the plot of the series perfectly and keeps us deeply invested until the very end.
