The Prison Doctor: Women Inside by Amanda Brown
3.0
I found it easy to pick up and read a few pages each night, and the stories are very good and have good representation for women in prison. I found myself reading a chapter before bed each night
It just felt a bit off a points? There was clearly creative liberty taken with the dialogue to make it easier to understand, which is okay but just reads funny. I didn't really like the contradictory bits about how the prison is great at rehabilitation, then straight after talking about high reoffending rates and women being homeless after prison.
Also, I didn't realise this before reading and wish someone had've said, MASSIVE TRIGGER WARNING for self harm, it feels obvious now, but I didn't realise there would be so much on it.
Overall thought I did still like the book, I've heard the first one is better so I'll get to reading that next
