Did not finish book. Stopped at 12%.
this is my first Sally Rooney book and pls tell me her other books are better. iʼm not sure whether to pick up her other books still since i did NOT vibe with her writing style at all.
how do i go about this without being rude ... cuz tbh this is hard. i 𝐡𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝 this book so much that i canʼt express it in just words.
istg if i had a physical copy of this book, it would of flew across the room & it would be the first time iʼd done it like EVER. i think that says a lot about my experience with this book 😂

the writing style was completely damn infuriating, having no quotations over dialogues so it was confusing to follow up at first. then we got “he says, she says” thing in this book either. like the amount of times, in one page, the author used this phrase ... like there are bunch of other words to change “says” with.
next, i didnʼt realise this book was gonna be so sexual ??? I WAS LIKE WTF, Marianne at one point was like “oh, i wanna watch him having sex, not necessarily with me, it can be anyone, i just wanna watch him” 🤢🤢 GIRL BYE—
i donʼt stand with “male character using female character for his own benefit”, the way that it is in this book, trope. fuck that.
the dialogues between characters were sooo blunt and ridiculous, not making any point whatsoever. like, literally talking for the sake of it and iʼm not here for it—it got me freaking bored.
and yeah, even the whole story was painstakingly boring, i couldnʼt care one bit about them characters, so whatʼs the point to even read this book lmaooo.
since iʼve had QUITE a few people saying that this book was a waste of their time and didnʼt get better, i donʼt wanna go thru with it anymore. thank u, next.
