Persuasion by Jane Washington, Jaymin Eve
4.0
Willa freaking Knight. Baddass Extraordinaire. Best Dweller in the World.
What makes Willa so great? Well....
She's not good at many things, but she excels at getting in the way. Especially if its something dangerous
So for those of you who were concerned... Don't worry Willa is still the same quirky clumsy awesome heroine you loved in the first book
Welcome back to the world of the Gods. Dwellers are servants who hope and pray to get sent to Blesswood Academy so they can work their entire life away for stuck-up pricks that happen to be born with abilities.
Here at BlessWood, our motto is: Welcome to the Academy, try not to die.
For real, I love this world for so many reasons and this book reminded me of that with its world-building specifically the different creatures and a HIERARCHY of the gods.
She is still a badass trying to fight and ending up hitting her own team because....honestly hun what a clutz. This was an inherent part of her personality. NOT JUST something just said in the beginning then forgotten by the end (hello bella from twilight)
And Willa gets herself in the most ridiculous situations. Like being stranded in a floating platform in the sky. With a god who has anger issues. Who she may or may not have kicked in the balls.
So we have Willa getting in some hilarious situations and the guys are there. This book definitely had more flirty flirty-angst stuff. Not that Willa would ever admit she has feelings.
Picture this:
A beautiful independent lady trying to boss around 5 crazy-hot gods. But this independent woman trips over nothing, sets fire to everything, somehow always loses her clothes, and just... pure chaos man.
I just love it so freaking much
Though I mean this book isn't for everyone. Some people don't like full bellied, hold-yourself-up-on-your-knees, can’t-breathe-or-talk kind of laughter. So if thats you, first stop following me and secondly read this book anyways.
It was also great seeing the relationships developed. They had inner jokes from the first books that carried over and honestly just warmed mah wittle heart. And they helped each other!! The guys made Willa more crazy outgoing and protective. And Willa in general made them crazier
This review was a little 2 ranty and ravey but honestly, this book was a breath of fresh air. Characters I gave a shit about, interesting plot development
And can i just say...
I TOTALY FUCKING CALLED IT WITH THE sPoILeR THING I CALLED IT WHEN I FIRST READ THE FIRST BOOK BUT I THOUGHT I MIGHT BE GIVING THE AUTHOR TOO MUCH CREDIT BUT IT WASN'T ENOUGH IT WAS EVEN BETTER OH MAH GAWDS THAT WAS BRILLANT I LOVED IT SO SO SO MUCH!! READ IT!!! NO SPOILERS!! READ IT SO I CAN GUSH ABOOUT IT WITH YOU!!
Just so good. Definitely recommend.

“I actually was pretty special, but not in a kick-the-gods-asses kind of way. More in the dropped-on-my-head-at-birth kind of way.”

“What have we told you about doors?” he asked.
“They move … so I shouldn’t lean on them.”

“Those who make it all the way through go on to the next round. The rest will possibly be sacrificed, depending on the whims of the gods.”

“One of the boys was going to check on me at any moment—and I didn’t want them to see me dragging the crazy-assed-sol down the hallway by her legs”
And Willa gets herself in the most ridiculous situations. Like being stranded in a floating platform in the sky. With a god who has anger issues. Who she may or may not have kicked in the balls.
“I shrieked and tried to throw the jug of water on them, only to realize it was empty and all I had actually thrown was the jug.
Which smacked into Siret’s head.
He swung around with another snarl and I froze, both hands held out in front of me.
“Shit! Sorry, I meant to hit Rau … and I meant to throw the water not the jug! And I’m … shit”

“They had just dropped the whole beta bomb on me, and then immediately jumped into a wrestling match because I was naked.
They were all insane.
“We heard that!” Siret yelled, ducking to the side to avoid Aros’s fist."

“You should get revenge on him,” Coen advised.
“I should!” I immediately tried to kick my walk into a run—taking Coen’s suggestion as permission to punch one of them—but he caught my shirt again.”
I just love it so freaking much
“So … penises, right? I mean … just wow, so many penises. What would a girl even do with that many penises together in one place?” Shut up Willa. What the hell is wrong with you?
There was a beat of silence and then suddenly the room was filled with laughter."

“We’re upset that you removed it,” Yael interrupted. “You … you shweed!'
For a moment, not a single person even dared to breathe. Cyrus looked confused, but the others seemed to be torn between rage and amusement.
“What …” Coen paused, taking a deep breath, “the hell is a shweed?”
“It’s a cross between a shit-head and a weed,” I said, causing everyone to turn to me.
“Her idiocy is contagious,” Cyrus stated. He almost looked surprised.”
