Lily and the Octopus by Steven Rowley

I tried to classify this book into my usual shelves for books that I love, but it just doesn't fit. I can't call it an "easy read", because I sobbed my way through about 3/4 of the book. It's so good that I kept reading despite the content, and I'm the kind of person who had put Animal Farm aside for a month after . I also don't want to shelve under "highly recommended", because despite of how good this book was, I don't want to inflict this book on somebody else who is going to be up at 1 am crying because they can't stand what's happening but they also can't put it down.
It's so beautiful, the mixture of surrealism and reality used perfectly. The thing that really got me was .
At times funny and exciting, but mostly just heart breaking.
