This book is incredible.

The characters are awesome, the premise is really cool, and the magic system is very different and mysterious. But the real shining star of this book is the prose.

Truly, this book is so beautifully written, especially when the author is describing the magic. There is so much poetry in the author’s writing style, and the imagery is off the charts incredible.

The magic system is softer than you usually see in books where it’s featured this much, but was so well done that to me it never felt overpowered or a deus ex machina. Even though the rules weren’t explored in depth it didn’t detract from the tension or drama of the story.
