How to End a Love Story by Yulin Kuang
5.0
This book is definitely my surprise of the year! I picked it up on a whim (thank you The Works!) but this dark horse for sure delivered.
The premise (getting entangled / falling in love with the guy who drove the car your sister used to end her life) is definitely out there and I was REALLY skeptical, but it was gut wrenching in the best way, which is such a weird thing to say.
I mean, we don’t want messy (shoutout to my fellow Kroegpraat kroeggenoten), but I am very happy Helen and Grant went messy and then some.
Because, the way mental health was described was done in such a wonderful normal way. Well done!
I really appreciated how the third person POV shifted so effortlessly within chapters. It was great to easily go between the FMC and the MMC and immediately read the other’s thoughts. I felt this was a fresh approach by the author!
Also, Grant? Can you be any hotter?
I did not expect to be clutching my pearls this often while reading this book.
Excited about this author being the writer on the Emily Henry films!
4.5 stars rounded up. Yes I am also surprised.
