I've had this book sitting on my shelves since its release date in 2022, and for the life of me, I will never know why I haven't picked it up before now. But, as it happens to be, it was the right book at just the right time for me.
In this book, we follow Katie, Grace, and Robyn. They all have their own issues, but all come together to form a friendship trio - The Sea Glass Sisterhood. These ladies make a pact with each other, 'a problem shared is a problem thirded.' Between the three of them, they provide ideas to help each other and that, for me, made the book as lovely as it is.
I know for some people the issues that these ladies have been through and overcome may be upsetting and triggering, but please be assured that these are handled with passion and care. It has also opened my eyes to how others may be feeling in the same or similar scenarios.
I particularly found this quote and paragraph very powerful, and so I'm sharing them as part of this review because I feel that many of us will take inspiration and confidence from them and many people will feel they resonate for many reasons.
Quote:
"They might be at rock bottom today, but as of tomorrow, the only way was up."
Paragraph:
"Every body is beautiful. Every body. Mine and yours. Your body tells the story of your life. We love, we grow, we get ill, we lose loved ones, and our bodies are there recording every bump along the road. No one loves their body one hundred percent; we can all find flaws if we look hard enough. So, how about we look with different eyes: with unconditional love for ourselves? No body gets to old age unscathed. Your body is your own personal journal of your life. Wonderful, unpredictable, awe-inspiring life. So, own it, be proud of it, celebrate it. Because every body matters."
