This was my first book by Danielle Norman and I have to say I am quite intrigued with the way this author’s mind works!

Knight Watch was a treat to read –
Kat is a leather wearing, motorcycle riding and a commitment-phobe cop who is absolutely ambivalent towards kids. All she needs is a good time in her life or stress relief in her life – she doesn’t need or want a man in her life beyond what he can do in the bedroom.

Jackson, single father with a psychotic ex needs a new lease on life, for him and for his adorable 4-year-old son, Julien – and now joined as a Bank Branch Manager in a whole new city, away from his past and for a new beginning!

Both Kat and Jackson are insanely attracted to each other the instant they cross paths – an attraction they both decide to act on, for one night and one night only! But when Jackson’s past collides with Kat’s present, especially after their encounter, that neither of them can ever forget – their lives take a turn that neither of them would have ever imagined!

I so enjoyed the progression of Jackson and Kat’s relationship – but actually earned my respect for the author’s talent was the fact that Kat didn’t magically turn into a mothering or nurturing woman – she stayed true to her original feelings about kids, especially after meeting Julien, she never lies or denies that kids aren’t on her plan, not to Jackson nor to herself!

It takes her time to understand that she could actually and does come to adore Julien like he deserves to be. And that is the main reason why their interactions were a treat to read and were the main reason why I enjoyed the book a lot more than I actually thought I would.

Add in to the plot, a twisted psychotic ex as well as a well meaning but very nosy & interfering boisterous family; you get a well rounded and a wonderful romantic suspense; that will make sure you keep an eye out for the next book in the series!
