Alice isn’t Dead was an instant favorite podcast for me and in happy to finally be reading the novelized iteration. Overall, I’m not sure this story is as memorable as some of the other books to come out of Joseph Fink but, as always, I appreciate his heart and style of storytelling itself. The writing is strange and nostalgic, intentionally vague, with a familiar nonsensical lilt and it’s almost comforting to read all of these bizarre happenings the way they’re presented. The characters are easy to love, there’s a decent amount of intrigue to the conspiracy and the cult and the myriad of ways people show themselves, and I love the underlying hint of this being just off the edge of our universe. It only loses points in interest, I think. My attention wasn’t maintained throughout and the pacing left space for me to forget myself even in action scenes.
