Loveless by Alice Oseman
5.0
“I've learnt some Things. Like the way friendship can be just as intense, beautiful and endless as romance. Like the way there's love everywhere around me - there's love for my friends, there's love for my paintings, there's love for myself.”
I cannot describe how seen I feel after reading this.
As someone who has only recently discovered that I might be somewhere on the aro-ace spectrum, I kind of wish I had read this earlier. I mostly picked it up because it was by Alice Oseman, and I love her work. But I saw so much of myself in Georgia - and not just in how she handled relationships, but her interests and her way of speaking. I loved all of the characters (especially Rooney), and the whole story felt comforting and safe. I teared up a couple of times while reading.
I’m also from the USA, so reading about college freshman being able to drink at socials kind of blew my mind haha. I wasn’t able to drink until my junior year!
