5 stars - I loved it!

When Roz survives the destruction of the Concord and ends up with the memories of her creator, she knows she needs to find Imani James and the human colony Renata. To get there though she needs the help of Vin’s guidmate Fásach. But will Renata allow a human doll into their colony?

This was an emotional story that I couldn’t put down. From the beginning Roz and Fásach's story hooked me and I spent the day devouring their book. Roz is a human doll created with living code but when her creator is killed she gains her memories. Roz spends a lot of time struggling with who she is and if she is even her own person because of the code that originally controlled her. Roz’ story is so different from the others in this series because of this and presents a whole new look at clones and biognostic’s.

Fásach was such a sweetheart and I loved him from the very beginning. He is the adoptive father to two little girls and is determined to give them a better life. While initially he planned not to help Roz, he quickly changes his mind and works to help her become herself. I loved that he taught her about consent and never pushed his needs on her. He let her set the pace and waited until she understood everything about a Yiwren before even hinting that he wanted her. I adored Fásach and his determination to protect her. Also his transformation was fascinating and I loved learning about it since this is the first book about Yiwrens.

This story was very emotional and intense. Fásach and Roz’s relationship was beautifully written and I love how they grew as a couple as the book went on. I also loved how protective they were of each other and how they would comfort each other. Fásach was just the perfect partner for Roz and I can’t wait to see more of these two in the future.

Overall, this was a fantastic addition to the series and I can’t wait to see what will happen next. There is so much going on that I never know what is going to happen next.
