Dad Camp: A Novel by Evan S. Porter
3.0
Thanks to Dutton for an early copy for review!
When John feels his pre-teen daughter Avery starting to pull away from him the summer before starting middle school, he makes a last-ditch effort to get their relationship back to what it once was. The solution? A week at Dad Camp.
DAD CAMP by Evan S. Porter was a cute summer read that explores various father/daughter relationships all in the setting of an overpriced, slightly rundown summer camp.
While I liked the idea behind this book and some of the elements within it, I found the dad stereotypes to be overwhelming and, our main ("not like the other dads here") dad John was so much of a helicopter parent that I found myself cringing quite a bit around his scenes.
An overall fun, heartwarming read, but missing a little something when it came to the characters!
Publication Date: June 11
