Review previously placed on my blog:

I'm currently reading The adventures of Amina al-Sirafi by Shannon Chakraborty. This is the first book in the Amina al-Sirafi series. I'm reading a copy from the library whilst listening to the audiobook. Picking this back up where I left off in November last year. This is an adult historical fantasy book.

Glad I picked this back up again, it is a lot of fun to read. I really like all the characters in this book. The audiobook is absolutely amazing. Story itself is good, but the pacing does feel a bit off to me. Still really enjoying it.

This was a let down in the end. The pace felt very off in this book. The main thing that kept me going was the humour, I really liked that. It also feels strange to me to have elements from our world in a book and high fantasy elements. I just don't really like that.
