Here I am with the second book in the "Winter Fire" series done!

What can I say for such a short book? Maybe that it needed to be longer? Or loose some of the unnecessary meandering with Jenna's self hate in regards to how she feels about the whole situation?...Yeah, you guessed it..I didn't like this book as much as the first one.

On a brighter note, the meandering is my only complain! The relationship between characters gets more complicated and nuanced; Loki is awesomely portrait(in my opinion>..>); Jenna sees some problems with her image of Bren (thank god!) and we get more norse mythology!
I'm happy to say I enjoyed the ending mainly for the fact that, in this way, the author avoids the pitfall noun as will-they-won't-they with the returning to Asgard subject. We also got a major scene with what the elders were prepared to do in order to get the fugitives back, so I think the decision with Bren at the end was perfect!
I'm also grateful Jenna thought of Loki and how to help him stay safe! ^^ Right there is a nice, tension filled, friendship taking roots!

I will not repeat here what I said in the first book's review. All of those remarks about plot, pacing, etc. are valid.
I wish in the later books, Jenna reconnects with her mother a little...feels like a beginning of 'no parent syndrome' here, I won't gonna lie..>...> And that she matures a little bit..just a little(I'm too old and unwilling to understand a 17 year old for much longer in her internal battle with some imaginary fow like lack of self esteem)

With all these things mentioned, I still liked the sequel and I really want to see how it progresses.
It's a nice continuation centered on Jenna's inner demons about the situation she's put into, and I'm willing to go on this journey.

Still a nice palatte cleanser, but maybe don't read it back to back?0_0
