That fuckin’ Flowers is back at it again when he ends up with a case that full of multiple levels of crazy, maybe even movie level crazy! All he wanted to do was go back to his fake antique lumber case and it was pretty much promised when Davenport had said that this was going to be an “easy duty” retrieval case.
Elijah Jones is a Lutheran minister who is dying from cancer and desperate to find the means to cover for his wife’s, care costs after his death. Having stolen the stele from an archaeological dig in Israel and smuggling it into the states, Elijah is looking to auction it off to the highest bidder, but when the bidders comprise of a bunch of crazies, things aren’t looking so simple for Virgil anymore.
Another read down in this series and I have to say I quite enjoyed it despite the plot not being my thing. Fast paced and serious with humor to break up the tension, it was a pretty good read that kept getting crazier by the chapter. The plot twists had me gasping and the ending gave me a bit of a chuckle (and a bit of tears).
