What Lies Between Us by John Marrs

dark emotional mysterious sad tense medium-paced

5.0

This book is delightfully dark with plot twist after plot twist. It is a story of obsession, of family and of the danger of keeping secrets told from two points of view – those of Maggie and her daughter Nina. Characters flip from being good to bad, as the reader learns more secrets. This is family disfunction at its finest. What would it take for you to chain your mother in her room? I enjoyed the ending, I felt like everything wrapped up in a very messed up bow.

“It’s all my fault. And hers. If I had a second chance, I’d do everything differently.”
