If I could give this book a million stars, I would. Kit & Basie is such a sweet story that completely rotted my teeth out while also making my heart explode with every line, paragraph, and page.
I wasn’t expecting this to be one of my favorite reads of the year—if not one if my favorite reads in general—but it completely surpassed my expectations.
Tess did an incredible job not only writing realistic characters, but also realistic expectations and reactions to grief. The characters are lovable, flawed, and human. The story was so fun, deeply moved me, and made me whine to my friends about how worried I was about the characters even though I knew there’d be a happily ever after.
I highly, HIGHLY, recommend Kit & Basie!!
