The Flowers of Buffoonery by Osamu Dazai
3.5
I really enjoyed the first half, but got bored in the second. The rambling narration if the author definitely made me laugh though and his observations on these immature boys (more accurately men since theyre all in their 20s), were sharp and uncomfortably accurate and relatable. I didn't know going in that this is connected to another work of the author's and I went in blind. It makes me very curious to read that other book, NO LONGER HUMAN, so I can understand the context of this novel better. Overall, it was short, meandering, and made me cackle at times from the author's ranting narration.
