The Vacancy in Room 10 by Seraphina Nova Glass

4.0

The Vacancy In Room 10 is a riveting mystery about two women who are down on their luck and find themselves living in an inexpensive apartment complex that was formerly a motel.

Cass is the handywoman of the complex and recently ousted from her posh life when her boyfriend dumps her for a much younger woman.

Anna has just lost her husband to suicide after a disturbing final phone call. She moves to the Sycamores complex, where he spent a lot of time working on his paintings. She's trying to understand how things went so terribly wrong.

They each end up uncovering more and more nefarious activity in the Sycamores. The setting is incredibly vivid in its bleakness. The cast of residents was very well drawn. I had such a clear image of each person.

The plot is very well paced and kept me guessing. The last quarter of the book was so good! I was glued to my Kindle to find out what would happen and how Cass and Anna's lives intersected. Add this one to your TBR!
