The Flatshare by Beth O'Leary

5.0

I loved every bit of this book, from beginning to end.
Love story aside, I actually resonate with both main characters.

Tiffy is such a badass, finally acknowledging being a victim of emotional abuse. She goes trough an amazing transformation and I 100% can relate to her and all those mixed feelings towards her ex.
Leon is such an introvert, as am I. He's so lovely though, even if he tries to bury himself in work and keep people away. I also relate to his struggles as well.

I just love how they interact, it's so intimate and heartwarming. Such an amazing book, the whole idea it's based on is truly brilliant. Although the whole flatsharing thing might sound absolutely nuts and exaggerated, Tiffy's decision to accept it actually pinpoints the beginning of her emotional transformation.

The narrative flows so easily and the character development is beautiful.
5 stars and a bow. Thank you.

I'm browsing through the books I read in 2021, trying to pick my favourites. This was definitely one of my favourite reads of 2021.
I read a lot of romance this past year, like A LOT. Over 150 books, probably.. all love stories. But this one stood out. Mainly because I love the portrayal of emotional abuse and the journey taken afterwards. It's something that I experienced in my twenties and I think it was perfectly portrayed. The struggle is actually real.. and when you'll read the book you'll want to blame Tiffy and judge her for her actions and decisions. But it's never that simple.
