I don’t really know how they could’ve followed up the experience of reading Vita Nostra, but this felt too abstracted and too straightforward at the same time.  I’m not invested in Sasha’s boyfriend, he’s just a plot device, but also that’s entirely the point, but also just because that’s the point doesn’t make it a good point. Either way, I’ll read the third one when it comes out.
