this my first book by jenna evans welch and might not be the last, but i doubt i’ll continue with this series in particular.

the characters were cheesy at times, specifically lina and ren in the first half of the book. they sounded quite teenage-y and if i read this book when i was like 16-18, i probably would’ve loved it.
i think howard was my favourite character in this book. he was so wholesome and supportive and i appreciated seeing everything he’d done for lina. now that’s a real dad!

the writing style, again, was cheesy at times but i did love that the pacing was quick and i was flying through the book.
it also definitely gave italian vibes and it actually managed to take you there with the way the food was explained and all these italian phrases which i didn’t understand lol.

i normally don’t enjoy best friends to lovers trope (there was a tiny enemy aspect but i wouldn’t call it enemies lol) and this book was no exception. this little love triangle going on wasn’t really well done either and i could’ve done without thomas, he didn’t give nothing to the story really.
however, i did enjoy reading lina’s mum’s journal and following her sad love story that took place in italy. i don’t know why but all the tea did make me intrigued lol.
the ending was wrapped up in a bow which was probably to be expected, but it didn’t really move me or anything so i can’t say it done anything for me personally.
this wasn’t by any means my favourite romance novel, but it did give me summer-y italian vibes so i love it for that!
