"I want your magic to burn this palace to the ground."
I absolutely LOVED this take on Anastasia and Rasputin. The plot was interesting and the setting was breath-taking. Molly Tullis does an amazing job with her characters Anastasia and Mikhail, and the chemistry between is them is practically palpable.
I also really enjoyed the character development throughout the book. Both characters have some reliance on each other, but by the end they're both able to stand on their own, with the other cheering them on in the background and providing support. I think this is really important to the story overall, because not only are Anastasia and Mikhail strong together, they're both able to break free from their past traumas and be strong independently.
Honestly this was the Anastasia retelling that I didn't know that I needed, but I am SO glad I found. Overall a 5 star read for me.
