The Forest of Wool and Steel by Natsu Miyashita, Philip Gabriel
3.0
What a light and lovely read!
This book follows the journey of a piano tuning apprentice, and for someone who absolutely loves music and musical instruments, I enjoyed it so much.
There wasn’t any high stakes, just a short and sweet story following this tuner day to day life, his struggles and doubts. Although, sometimes it got quite technical, but still there was something so comforting and peaceful about it.
This book made ne tear up at some point even though there wasn’t anything sad to result in such reaction... it was just so beautiful, like I was able to hear the piano! Which made me think of the first time I saw someone play a piano years ago, someone wanted me to see them play and i thought ok whatever, but the moment they started playing i was so taken back i almost cried but managed to control my reaction because i didn’t want to look like a weirdo lol .. but it was just overwhelming, this beautiful sound coming out of this big box!!
But I can also see that some people might not like this book, because not much happens in it, you have to be in the mood for it and to have the right expectations.
