I'm Telling the Truth, but I'm Lying: Essays by Bassey Ikpi
5.0
this book was incredible. the author perfectly captured the experience of her mental illness. i didn't have to words to describe my own experience until i read this book. this was my first ever audiobook and i was scared but i loved it. the chapter "what it feels like" is my life. i didn't know there were others whose brain works like mine. this book was the best book i've read in a while. if the creators job is to understand the human experience then she did a wonderful job. everything was clearly done with intention from word 1 to the acknowledgments, where she somehow manages to beautifully thank people without erasure. i am in awe.
