This was mostly a great book. The pacing was a bit awkward towards the end, with the resolution ultimately appearing and concluding over a very short period. But besides that, it was a lovely read. Unlike the previous two books in the series, this one is basically a vignette of a few weeks' time that the MCs spend together in the country, with some plot to frame it out.

I've enjoyed the previous two books in this series, which similarly focused on the women of the society of sirens, who are all eschewed by polite society for their willingness to live proudly and independently (FMC is a wildly successful courtesan). And I liked this one as well, although the feminist politics of the society were less focused on here in book 3.

🌶️ 4.5/5 Lots of 🌶️ scenes!

🎧 Narration was by Justine Eyre, so obviously it was perfect.
