I can't believe we finally got a sequel to Little Dove even if it's with a different couple!

Little Sunshine features Mila who has had a tragic life, even worse than Juliette. She didn't know who her father was and her mother was just plain awful. Her mother only cared about herself and didn't even want anyone to know she had a daughter. Mila felt like no one wanted her around and her mother just kept ruining her life.

After her mother gets her fired, Mila decided to steal a wallet to eat and this is how she meets Ash. He makes her return the wallet and then feeds her. I adored this as someone whose love language is food.

Just like Maximo, Ash is obsessed with our heroine but tries to hide it in the beginning. He wanted to protect her from himself and everyone who wanted to harm her. Mila was beautiful, strong, stubborn, too proud for her own good and needed someone to protect her and Ash wanted to be the one to do it. Unfortunately to him, even though Mila was used to starving and not having any money she was also too proud to accept anything from him.

Ash wanted her to depend on him and call him daddy. She'd never had someone make her feel like a priority before him or even pretend like she was one. I found it sad how because he was trying not to make her run away from him, she thought that he didn't really want her and that he was outside of her league and that he didn't trust her.

I liked Ash and Mila before they really got together but I much preferred them later in the book when they both knew they wanted each other and there was clear trust.

I really enjoyed the romance but I wish we had seen more friendships in this book, like just Ash and Maximo talking about their girls or Mila and Juliette hanging out more, especially in their book club.

All in all while this wasn't as good as the first book I really enjoyed this age difference book with daddy kink. I loved Ash in Little Dove, so I was so glad he got his own book. I'm really intrigued about what happens next but I'm not so sure I'll pick up the third book because it's A why-choose romance.
