i've said it before and i'll say it again: mimi grace is a COMEDIAN! like her writing could be its own comedy routine if need be and it'd be met with a standing ovation at the end. she really puts the com in romcom and it's something i personally haven't seen in awhile. so many romance books i've read recently are so...serious. all the time, all gas, no brakes. it's sickening in a way, but i like it. however, it's nice to have a break and just relax into a read.

if you know me and you saw my review on the first book in this series, then you know i've been waiting on gwen and anthony's story. it didn't disappoint buuuuuuuut i do think the start of their romance was a little awkward and random for my taste. because anthony has been pining after her for so long i expected him to lead and for there to be a better set up to their arrangement, but i still liked it. mimi grace definitely upped the spice in this one and gets 10s across the board for that.

forced proximity, grumpy x sunshine (minimally; more grumpy than sunshine), brother's best friend, and a lovely black romance. i enjoyed this! and it got me out my slump so 🤭🤭🤭 i rate this 3.9⭐s and i can't wait for raven's story
