Mafia Bride by C.D. Reiss
4.0
Rating: 4.5 Stars
Violetta is looking forward to her future. But there’s a bump that seems more of a road block. Santino is a man with lots of secrets and who doesn’t disclose much. He keeps both us and Violetta in the dark.
Most of this story is told from Violetta’s point of view. This way the reader gets to experience everything as the story unfolds. It’s also a way that we can experience the age gap between our two main characters. We get to see her inexperience with a lot of life’s challenges as well as that of the more experienced older man.
There’s plenty of scenes that show how this will fit in with the mafia trope. Any type of romance will be hard to find but it’s the suspense that will hold your attention. We even get a little bit of mafia action that would be great movie material. If you have the time, this is a story that you can get done in one day. Hard part would be if you have something that comes up because there isn’t really any good stopping point. But don’t expect an ending. The author knows what she needs to create in order for us to be ready for the next book in the series. Sad thing is there’s at least a two month wait – what will I ever do!
I was not compensated nor was I required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.
