What a great read! Something you don’t come across all that often, a really funny murder investigation. Fabulous characters that are so well drawn, especially Felix, the protagonist, a boring 75 year old widower who’s never done anything outlandish in his life. Felix is kind-hearted, well-mannered, ordered and law-abiding. But the charitable work he takes on after the death of his beloved Margaret is anything but ordinary. What transpires when it all goes horribly wrong, together with the resultant impossible mess forms the basis of the plot. It’s hilarious! The police investigators, all of whom are also terrific characters have the task of unravelling not only the murder but a whole host of other serious crimes, all linked in a tangled web. Despite the subject of assisted end of life, it’s such a fun read.
